Hardin paraeducator builds confidence, opportunity for students
At Hardin-Central High School, one familiar presence spends each day helping students catch up on assignments, understand lessons and find opportunities to succeed both in and out of the classroom.
That presence is Paraeducator Kristy McBee, who is now in her fifth year with the district and works in the high school’s special education department. In addition to helping students stay up to date on assignments and lessons, McBee also coaches Special Olympics, helps introduce Job Olympics opportunities for students and often steps in wherever support is needed throughout the school.
School officials emphasized Mc-Bee’s impact on the school.
“Kristy is an outstanding educator and person,” stated Principal James Olyer. “She loves working with students and is always willing to assist students and staff in any way possible. There are many times she goes above and beyond her job duties to make the school day run smoothly or help students have a great day.”
