Following arrest, no charges filed

LEXINGTON – Richard Anthony Arrington’s case remains in limbo after appearing in court March 10 in Lafayette County. On the same day, court records show Arrington’s decision to waive extradition, possibly to Arizona, went by mail to Gov. Mike Parson’s office. In response, Parson’s office told this newspaper, “If the defendant waives extradition, then the Governor’s Office does not have involvement in the case.” Arrington remains this week in the Lafayette County Jail. To date, prosecutors’ offices in neither Lafayette, Ray nor Cass counties have filed charges. Arrington, 30, whose address is listed in court records as 9709 72nd Terrace, Kansas City, is being held in connection with the death of Tyler Gooding, 25, Pleasant Hill. Court records show no legal representation, neither a private attorney nor a public defender, has appeared in court on Arrington’s behalf.
