With September designated as Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, therapist Robert Cox figured that a way to spread awareness about suicide was to stage an event spreading mental health awareness. That event was End The Stigma, held Sept. 16 at the Branded Outdoor Theatre in Richmond. It included concessions; silent auctions; 50/50 raffle tickets; and music from area artist Scott Fletcher, Julia Reynolds of Kansas City and Moneyland, a band that included Roan, Davis and Johnny Ricker. “It is always fun coming out to play for an event, but it is these events that are my favorite – the ones that have a message and a purpose behind them,” said Reynolds, who has just released her second album, “Queen of Crazy.” As Reynolds sang, Ryder Jones, 9, came onto the stage and danced like Elvis Presley.
