Blood drive set for July 21 at United Methodist Church
RICHMOND – With the Community Blood Center in Kansas City reporting a need for blood, a Richmond community blood drive will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. July 21 in the Richmond United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.
Because of the pandemic, fewer businesses and organizations held blood drives last year and the decrease continues this year, support information states. Also, many large businesses and organizations that have hosted blood drives no longer host them because so many employees work from home, causing a further decline in the blood supply.
“In addition, many people who were unable to have elective surgeries done in 2020 and early 2021 are now having them – also resulting in additional blood shortage,” support information states.
