American Legion hosts veterans’ breakfast, program

In light of Veteran’s Day, Griffith-Skiles American Legion Post #237 hosted a breakfast and program at the Richmond building. Post-Commander Jack Lauck spoke on behalf of the veterans. Post Chaplin Darrin and Cherie Daniel were tasked with memorial prayer and musical tributes. “I never thought it was a right to salute the flag, but a privilege,” said Lauck. Lauck discussed why there should be respect for veterans. “For whatever reason, they enlisted or were commissioned – the bottom line was survival and upholding the ideals of America’s countrymen and women. In these current times, if we lose any battle, the world will be open to a new revolution where evil can force its ugly hand upon us,” said Lauck. “We are all in the fight together. Remember, the war does not stop when the flag is raised on foreign soil or on enemy territories.
