Area golfers crack top 30 at Richmond

RICHMOND – The Spartans and Tigers each produced at least one top-30 finisher at the Richmond Girls Golf Tournament Wednesday. Richmond’s Kennedy Wrisinger led area finishers by placing in a three-way tie for eighth in the 18-hole tournament at Shirkey Golf Course.

KANSAS CITY, Kansas – The Spartans scored early, and often, and played solid defense in their 54-16 win over Bishop Ward Catholic High School. Richmond made the last-minute decision to play Ward after COVID-19 stopped the planned game against Fulton.
Spartans hammer out hits in rout of Lexington

RICHMOND – Starting with sophomore Sydney Appleberry’s leadoff at-bat in the bottom of the first inning, the Spartans found ways to get hits Monday against Lexington. They swatted base hits into the outfield.

RICHMOND – Going in, the varsity football game looked equal, leaning toward Oak Grove. Oak Grove brought 16 seniors, 11 juniors and a winning record in 2020 versus Richmond’s 12 seniors, 13 juniors and an MRVC East crown.
