Richmond grapplers prepping to host MRVC East tourney

RICHMOND – The Spartans have a chance to add to their collection of boys wrestling championships Saturday, when they host the Missouri River Valley Conference East Division Tournament. The Spartans – whose list of titles include Class 1A-2A state crowns in 1986 and 1988, and the 2005 Class state title – enter the competition after sweeping a triangular Tuesday.

Second-half surge propels Richmond into Husker Classic semis

HIGGINSVILLE – A second-half surge Tuesday helped Richmond stay undefeated in varsity boys basketball. Trailing Windsor 34-29, the Spartans ripped off nine straight third-quarter points and went on to outscore the Greyhounds 34-21 for the half to secure a 60-50 victory in opening the Husker Classic on the Lafayette County C-1 campus in Higginsville.
