Linda Powers

Linda Joyce Powers, 71, of Richmond passed away Monday, March 11, 2024, at her home. Linda was born Jan. 9, 1953, in Los Angeles, the daughter of Calvin and Ardell (Munholland) Caho. She was united in marriage to Maurice David Powers of Richmond on April 19, 2013. He survives of the home. Additional survivors include: four sons, Timothy (Shannon) Holliday of Greenville, Miss., Jody (Amanda) Holliday of Youngsville, La., Maurice David (Barbara) Powers Jr. of Fairdale, W. Va., and Phillip (Christine) Powers of Richmond; and a daughter, Tammy Bourque (Chase Bouttè) of Lafayette, La. She also leaves behind 26 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jackie Caho of Corning, N.Y., and Buddy (Shawn) Norris of Carthage, Texas; and two sisters, Margaret (Randy) Cammack of Hineston, La., and Beverly Hancock of Glen Allan, Miss.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five grandchildren, Brent Holliday, Trent Holliday, Shane Holliday, Erin Gatlin and Timothy Holliday II; a great-granddaughter, Shaelyn Holliday; and two infant siblings.

Linda was a member of the New Beginnings Church in Richmond, where she sang and played piano. She was the owner of LP Accounting and Tax Services in Richmond.

Linda had a servant’s heart, loved to serve people, cook for them and was a hard worker. She had a way of bringing people together.

In addition, Linda enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She never judged anyone and was always there when you needed her.

Linda will be dearly missed by her family and friends. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the New Beginnings Church. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home; 507 E. Main St.-P.O. Box 190; Richmond, MO 64085.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 16, at the New Beginnings Church in Richmond. Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond is in charge of the arrangements.
