Four candidates are seeking Missouri House District 7 seats as voters prepare to cast ballots in the Aug. 4 primary election.

Adrian Cooper is running unopposed in the Democratic primary. Jeremy Clevenger, Megan Hall and Josh Muck are competing in the Republican primary. The winners will advance to the Nov. 3 general election. Current District 7 Rep. Peggy McGaugh is not seeking re-election.

Cooper, 36, is a student and educator who is completing his final term toward degrees in education and special education. He is married and has twin sons.

“I’m running because I believe the people of District 7 deserve someone in Jefferson City who understands the same challenges they do and puts people ahead of party politics and special interests,” stated Cooper. “I’m a lifelong rural Missourian, a father, a special education student and an active member of my community. Those experiences have taught me the importance of listening, meeting people where they are and doing what needs to be done.”
