Bobbie Wyse
Bobbie Norwood Wyse, 86, of Richmond passed away Friday, Jan. 10, 2025, at Liberty Medical Center. Bobbie was born May 19, 1938, in Camden, the son of James Blaine and Rosa Lee (Harrison) Wyse. He was united in marriage to Sharon Kay Metcalfe of Richmond on Feb. 13, 1959. She survives of the home. Additional survivors include his grandson, Blaine Wyse (fiancée Kate Hodges) of Kansas City; and two daughters-in-law, Traci (Wyse) Jamison of Richmond and Marianne Wyse of Springfield. Many nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents, Bobbie was preceded in death by two sons, Bobby Gene Wyse and David Allen Wyse; nine brothers, Roy, James Jr., Olan, Harrison, Harry, Everett, Glenn and two in infancy; and two sisters, Lola McKinney and Frances Wagner.
Bobbie was raised and educated in Camden. He dedicated more than 40 years to his career as a truck driver for Mattingly’s Variety Store until its closure, later driving for Yellow Freight until his retirement.
Bobbie honorably served his country in the National Guard for 23 years, completing boot camp at Fort Leonard Wood.
A proud 50-year member of the Richmond Masonic Lodge, Bobbie valued camaraderie and community.
Known for his warm personality, he never met a stranger and was deeply devoted to his family. He cherished his time with his grandson, nieces and nephews, creating countless memories at the family’s lake home at Truman Lake.
An avid crappie fisherman, Bobbie spent endless hours on the water with family and friends. His passion for fishing ran deep, so much so that some of the family’s youngest members learned to fish before they could walk, often with bottle warmers on the boat.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, Oct. 25, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, with the visitation beginning at 10 a.m. and services to follow at 11. A Masonic service will be held at 10:45.
