Hospital closes home health program

Body RICHMOND – Phasing out Ray Count Memorial Hospital’s home health program has gone “remarkably well,” Administrato Earl Sheehy said. As this newspaper reported earlier, the hospital’s Board of Trustees voted in July to phase out the program.

Body RICHMOND – After several people tested positive for COVID-19 and scores have possibly been in contact with those people, Richmond School District leaders ordered a three-week shutdown at Richmond High School, district Superintendent Gary Darling said late Friday afternoon.

RICHMOND HIGH SCHOOL will be closed from Oct. 12 through at least Nov. 2 due to a coronavirus outbreak. Other district schools are not affected.

Rust family honored for 132-year-old farm

Body RICHMOND – Many Ray Countians know Troy Rust for his financial consulting work. What they might not know is that Rust also is a man of the land, as his father and a few of his grandfathers were – a fact that has drawn state recognition.

Missing man, vehicle found in ditch near Dockery

Body RAYVILLE – Family and friends gathered around 3 p.m. October 2 to search for a missing man, Austin VanOster, 21, Rayville. On Saturday, his mother, Rhonda Rowlinson, Richmond, announced on Facebook: “He’s been located. Unfortunately, it’s not the outcome we all hoped for.”

RHONDA ROWLINSON says her son, Austin VanOster, has been found – an apparent traffic fatality. He appears to have driven off Highway 13 and into a ditch near Dockery.

Friends, family search for missing man

Body RAYVILLE – Family and friends gathered around 3 p.m. Friday to search for a missing man, Austin VanOster, 21, Rayville. VanOster disappeared around 10:30 p.m. Sept. 29, having last been seen at Stella’s Nightclub, Richmond. Area law enforcers are aiding in the search.
