A coalition of Northland law enforcement agencies combined efforts recently to combat human trafficking occurring in the communities north and east of Kansas City. The Clay, Clinton, Platte and Ray counties sheriffs and the Kearney Police Department each hosted a proactive countertrafficking operation in their jurisdiction.

Two bond violation reports have been filed on an Excelsior Springs woman who is facing nine felony sex abuse charges for allegedly insufficiently checking in with the court-ordered monitoring program. The violations came after she posted a $20,000 cash-only bond following her arrest on a failure to abide warrant for allegedly failing a court-ordered drug test while awaiting trial.
