JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri Department of Agriculture is accepting proposals through March 8 for anticipated funding from the Specialty Crop Block Grant Program. “These grant funds will assist projects in both rural and urban settings, allowing our producers to find continued growth and success,” Missouri Agriculture Director Chris Chinn said.

RICHMOND – Three Excelsior Springs leaders asked and received Ray County Commission support for a Fishing River study to prevent floods that have struck the city several times since 1951, including June 25, 2021.
RICHMOND – Talk continues but solutions remain elusive regarding safe rail crossings at and near Henrietta. After the Missouri Department of Transportation had sold the old Highway 13 bridge in Henrietta to the Ray County Commission, which could not afford maintenance, the overpass closed due to safety issues.
RICHMOND – Ray County Presiding Commissioner Bob King agreed to appoint two people to the Law Enforcement Restitution Committee. King named Julie Nelson and Rachelle Berry to the committee.
