License Plates Day celebrated

To celebrate License Plates Day on Tuesday, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum recently unveiled the first License Plate Bobbles. Bobbles for all 50 states were released and each bobble features the state’s current license plate design on a base with two large springs that provide maximum bobbling action for each license plate.

Orrick student receives sponsorship

Beta Tau Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma is sponsoring one Ray County student for the 2023 session of Missouri Girls State, which affords attendees the opportunity to study city, county and state government. Orrick High School student Julia Sayegh will attend the annual event June 24-July 1 at Lindenwood University located in St. Charles. While at Missouri Girls States, which is offered to students who have just finished their junior year of high school, the girls compete for Girls Nation, which meets in July in Washington, D.C.

Orrick boys ‘pushed a little harder’ at Carrollton

CARROLLTON – When Orrick’s winning streak in varsity boys track ended, coach Kirk Thacker wasn’t disappointed. Coming off wins at the Norborne Pirate Invitational April 14, the Sweet Springs Invitational April 18 and the Hardin-Central Invitational April 19 at Richmond, the Orrick boys finished fourth at the Bruce Finlayson Invitational April 21 at Carrollton.
