Sometimes people get blamed, sometimes people do the blaming. Why does it seem we are suddenly encapsulated with blaming and being blamed? Are we all just treating each other like children, or do people have a valid reason for blaming others?

What were your 20s like? This question is asked with curiosity because I’m currently moving right along in mine. I turned 23 this week, have learned several lessons and would love to hear any you’ve learned in your 20s!

To celebrate License Plates Day on Tuesday, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum recently unveiled the first License Plate Bobbles. Bobbles for all 50 states were released and each bobble features the state’s current license plate design on a base with two large springs that provide maximum bobbling action for each license plate.

Beta Tau Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma is sponsoring one Ray County student for the 2023 session of Missouri Girls State, which affords attendees the opportunity to study city, county and state government. Orrick High School student Julia Sayegh will attend the annual event June 24-July 1 at Lindenwood University located in St. Charles. While at Missouri Girls States, which is offered to students who have just finished their junior year of high school, the girls compete for Girls Nation, which meets in July in Washington, D.C.

CARROLLTON – When Orrick’s winning streak in varsity boys track ended, coach Kirk Thacker wasn’t disappointed. Coming off wins at the Norborne Pirate Invitational April 14, the Sweet Springs Invitational April 18 and the Hardin-Central Invitational April 19 at Richmond, the Orrick boys finished fourth at the Bruce Finlayson Invitational April 21 at Carrollton.

Knoxville resident Charlie Baker, 70, decided he wanted to do more after his retirement. Following his 25 years in the casino business and then working as a local teacher – Baker spent his time learning about disc golf.
