Richmond Graduate Claire Swafford is on Belmont University’s latest dean’s list. Swafford, who graduated high school in 2023, was among 44% of the Belmont undergraduates who received the honor, university information states.

Two school records fell when Hardin-Central competed in Class 1 state track and field competition May 17-18 at Jefferson City High School. By winning the boys 400-meter relay in 44.65 seconds, the foursome of Kaden McGinnis, Kalel Bowman, Denver Douglas and Brody Fifer broke the school record.

Lifelong Ray County resident Beth Conner has taken it upon herself to spread love and positivity in her community by leading what she calls a “love-centered life.” Conner hopes to spread that love and positivity at the old Methodist church in Henrietta, where she lives. Eventually, she wants to hold dinners, camps, retreats and classes there, but it’s not ready for events like that yet, she said.

The Ray County Court has accepted a not-guilty plea for a man facing two felony charges. Juan-David Gutierrez, 31, is charged with first-degree sodomy or attempted sodomy and second-degree sodomy.
