Millville 4-H Club is currently led by Shari Renfro and meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 7pm at the Millville United Methodist Church. The club has 23 current members who are involved in a wide array of projects. This past year, Millville 4-H participated in service projects including food donations partnered with 4-H Feeding Missouri to benefit the Richmond R-16 School District’s backpack program as well as our annual flower planting project at Shirkey Nursing and Rehab in Richmond.
The Ray County 4-H Council meets quarterly at the county extension office. Each club has the opportunity to have two voting members and two voting adults representing their club at each meeting. It is recommended that each club choose members and adults to represent their club for a full 4-H year. These club representatives should report news from the council meeting at the next club meeting following the council meeting.
Out of 62 youth, Richmond High School (RHS) Future Farmers of America (FFA) President Allison Coats was selected from Missouri 4-H and FFA State Fair exhibitors and will be awarded scholarships by the Missouri State Fair and the Youth in Agriculture (YIA) committee.
With the goal of having fun and bonding, surrounding high school Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapters joined together and hosted a “Super Farmer” event at the Ray County Fairgrounds July 11 at 5:30 p.m.
The Jeremy McGinnis family, of Hardin, has been named the 2024 Ray County Fair Farm Family by the Ray County Fair Association. The Jeremy McGinnis family includes his wife, Jamie, daughters Amaryllis and Kassie, and son, Kaden.
