Robert (Bob) Newton Griffing, 89, of Richmond, died peacefully on Friday, July 2, 2021, at NKC Hospital. Bob was born on September 23, 1931, to Jesse Arnold and Laveta Mae (Cox) Griffing in Ray County. He married the love of his life, Dorothy (Bernhard) Griffing of Hardin on October 26, 1950. He was blessed to spend over 70 years with her by his side.
Mary Jane Sollars, 99, a resident of Richmond and a native of Gravity, IA. Mary passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2021, in Richmond. She was born on a farm near Gravity, IA, on April 20, 1922, the daughter of Orren Cleaver and Emma May West. On August 31, 1940, she married Arthur Darrell Sollars of Gravity, IA; he preceded her in death on August 25, 1996.
Jimmie was born on September 27, 1944, in Excelsior Springs, the son of Elmer and Vivian (Ashby) Mullikin. He was united in marriage to Linda Jefferies on January 9, 1966; she survives of the home.
Dorothy Mae Cooper (91) of Independence, Missouri passed away June 29th, 2021. She was born July 11th, 1929, in Clinton, MO to George J. and Anna A. (Harrelson) Butler. She married Stanton F. Cooper of Henrietta on February 1st, 1947. Dorothy worked in the Richmond community for several years of her life.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Stanton, and daughter Patricia Ann Bullock.
Carl Allen Rowan, 82, of Richmond, died Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at North Kansas City Hospital.
Carl was born on November 27, 1938, on his family’s farm, near Knoxville, the son of Ray Lester and Zella (Travillion) Rowan. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Myrna L. Rowan, of Richmond on March 29, 1959; she preceded him in death on June 13, 2021.
Tamara Sue “Tammy” Wyse, 56, of Richmond, died Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas.
Tammy was born on July 7, 1964, in Kansas City, the daughter of Delmer and Goldie Jean (Frieben) Ohrenberg. She was united in marriage to Mark Allen Wyse of Orrick on July 1, 1982; he survives of the home.
Travis Jordan Pigg, 41, of Richmond, died unexpectedly on Monday, June 21, 2021, at his residence.
Travis was born on October 14, 1979 in Richmond the son of Danny Lee and Linda Diane (Skinner) Pigg. He was united in marriage to Courtney Ranea Voyles of Richmond on July 16, 2009, they later divorced but have remained best friends.
Caitlin Khrystyne Lake, 22, of Cowgill, died unexpectedly Tuesday, June 15, 2021, near Richmond.
Caitlin was born on July 31, 1998, in Liberty, the daughter of Jerry Lee Lake and Tamara “Tammy” (Tackett) Hemenway.
Tammy Ruth Cox, 59, of Hardin, passed away Thursday, June 17, 2021, at NorthCare Hospice House in Kansas City, surrounded by her loving family.
Wayne L. Brown, 63, of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, passed away Saturday, June 12, 2021, at his home.
Wayne was born on Aug. 29, 1957, to the late Henry and the late Nellie (Smith) Brown. He was one of six children. He married Debbie Bloss on Oct. 27, 1979, and they remained married until her death on May 28, 2020.
