RICHMOND – The Spartans seek varsity volleyball victory No. 3 as they began postseason play at 6 p.m. tonight at Cameron.
Richmond enters the Class 3 District 16 Tournament 2-21-2, finishing the regular season with an Oct. 14 Missouri River Valley Conference East Division sweep by visiting Carrollton. The Trojans downed the Spartans in the best-of-five match 25-12, 25-5 and 25-18.
The Spartans will open districts against Frontier STEM, a Kansas City-based charter school. A win would put them in the semifinals against Cameron at 4 p.m. Saturday at Cameron High School. The top-seeded Dragons, 26-4 and winners of seven of their last eight matches, had a first-round bye.
