Thacker offers hint of mystery as Aggies prep for Chiefs
HARDIN – Aggies fans might not see the regular Norborne Hardin-Central offense when NHC hosts Santa Fe at Norborne in varsity 8-man football action Friday.
The Aggies will be without starting quarterback/defensive back Brayden Schick, who suffered a muscle tear in his left shoulder during NHC’s 52-8 Sept. 11 road loss to North Shelby at Shelbyville.
“I was on defense and a kid ran by with the ball – and instead of just letting him go by, I reached out and grabbed him,” Schick, dressed in street clothes, said Monday during practice at Hardin-Central. “And he just kind of took my arm with his jersey. … It happened (the) first game, too; (I) never fully recovered.”
Korbin Pugh, a Hardin-Central junior who also runs cross country, will fill in for Schick at defensive back for Friday’s Central Rivers Conference non-divisional meeting, coach Kirk Thacker said Monday. Thacker, however, did not say who would be NHC’s quarterback.
