SEASON BEST Richmond’s varsity boys golf team shaved a few strokes off its game April 16. Competing in a quadrangular with Carrollton, Lafayette County and Holden at the Higginsville Golf & Country Club, the Spartans shot a combined 163 – their best this season, according to coach Brandon Rittmiller. Junior Isaac Kaylor led Richmond by shooting a 38 for his nine-hole round. Amos Farnan, Brody Farnan and Latimer Cavanah also contributed to Richmond’s team score. Amos Farnan, a first-year high schooler, shot a 39. Cavanah, a sophomore; and Brody Farnan, a junior, each shot a 43. Mattox McCloud was the team’s No. 5 golfer, finishing with a 45. Carrollton, however, edged Richmond for first with a 155. Casson Kipping led the Trojans with a 35. Lafayette County finished third with a 242. Brady Looney was the Huskers’ top finisher with a 47.
