LEXINGTON – Richmond put itself in position to sweep Lexington this season in varsity baseball. The Spartans won their first two meetings with the Minutemen, 7-6 and 11-1. When the teams met again May 3 at Lexington, Richmond trailed 9-5 in the top of the seventh inning, but had the bases loaded with one out. Noah Stevens-Brehm represented the tying run at bat. Drew Bollmeyer, the last of Lexington’s three pitchers, decided there would be no Richmond comeback victory. Bollmeyer, a sophomore, served up a line out to senior shortstop Jace Gore.
