Late rally attempt by NHC falls short
Norborne Hardin-Central (NHC) varsity 8-man football coach Andrew Watson and his Aggies were in position to remain undefeated late in the fourth quarter of their 58-42 Week 8 loss to Braymer/Breckenridge.
NHC (7-1 overall) trailed the Bobcats 50-42 with 3 minutes, 33 seconds remaining in the Oct. 18 clash at Hardin-Central. But then, Braymer/Breckenridge quarterback/cornerback Jordan Haley took over.
First, Haley connected with Carter Shoe on a 40yard catch-and-run touchdown and again on a twopoint conversion pass to give Braymer/Breckenridge a 16-point lead with 3:04 left. Then, on defense, the senior intercepted a pass that allowed the Bobcats (8-0) to chew up about 90 seconds of game clock before losing possession on downs. After the Bobcats had regained possession following another NHC turnover, Haley kneeled on back-to-back snaps to run out the clock.
