High heat, drop kicks, random observations and points that amuse are all part of the wide, wide world of sports at the community and national levels. I’ve just added three New Year’s resolutions to my list – all of them sportsrelated. First, I’ve resolved to donate my smattering of Kansas City Chiefs memorabilia to the clothing recycling bin at Ideal Industries in Richmond. In connection with that resolution, I’ve decided to go from loving the Chiefs to being indifferent toward them. And I’m resolving to redirect my collection of sports memorabilia elsewhere as I let go of my feelings toward the Chiefs, along with my Chiefs stocking caps, T-shirts, etc. Unless you’ve shut off all communication from the mainstream news media, social media and/or in-person gossip lately, you know the Chiefs plan to settle on the Kansas side of the metro area in 2031, ending a tenure of nearly 70 years on the Missouri side.
