Minutes before being crowned courtwarming king, Jesse Doyle gave himself and his Hardin-Central teammates a chance at pulling off a comeback courtwarming victory over Wellington-Napoleon. With Wellington-Napoleon leading 57-53 and less than a minute remaining in the fourth quarter of the Feb. 1 nonconference meeting, Doyle sank a hook shot to put the Bulldogs within two. “It was a last-minute play that our coach drew up,” the senior said. “And I had to make it. … I said a prayer before I went up with it and I ended up making it.” The Tigers, however, ended up making five free throws during the final 34 seconds to edge the Bulldogs 62-55.
