ODESSA – A long-held school record at Richmond High has fallen. On May 22, the Richmond boys 400-meter relay team won at the Class 3 Sectional 4 competition at Odessa in 43.58 seconds, breaking the school record of 43.75, set in 1993 and tied in 1995. The victory qualified the team for the Class 3 state meet, slated for Saturday at Jefferson City High School, and helped Richmond win the boys meet with 83 points – 11 points ahead of runner-up Lawson. Juniors Layne Cavanah, Jordan Alexander and Keyshaun Elliott and senior Adrian Church set the record, which “felt amazing,” Church said.
