We all view it differently

This past weekend was filled with conversations surrounding how the world is transforming and how my husband and I want to raise our sons moving forward. In the perfect world, I would be a stay-at-home mom, raising my sons while working on a book for publication and running the farm. We see ourselves as a traditional family with traditional roles, yet the world views what we should be doing differently. These conversations led me to ponder how so much from traditional views to how they are now. Not everything that has changed is terrible, nor is everything now seen as the ‘traditional’ way of life. Traditional can mean many things to different people, cultures and viewpoints. What is customary for me may differ from those who read my column weekly. However, traditional living for myself would include staying at home with my sons, homeschooling them and homesteading. After all, canning enough food to sustain the winter for a family of five, writing sonnets in the sun’s warmth…
