Richmond News podcast studio opens
Spring is a time of cleaning, decluttering and projects that have needed attention since last spring. Most people consider spring a time of rejoicing and new beginnings – Richmond News included. The newsroom team recently undertook the hefty task of cleaning out a storage room and turning it into the Richmond News podcast studio.
There was a need for a podcasting room but we did not know where to start. Searching for ideas, my boss, Richmond Newspaper Advertising Consultant and General Manager Sharon Donat came up with the idea of using a storage room. I started cleaning it out the next day. It was a team effort. Technically, we’ve already had two guests in there and both had very nice things to say about the podcast room. Originally, the room was used as a “dark room” for developing pictures and then turned into a “plate room,” where flexible metal printing sheets are etched using a photographic process with lasers.
