Putting politics aside, people should get vaccinated to protect themselves and others from COVID-19. But that is the trick – getting anyone to put aside politics in this divisive age of hyperpartisanship. Many Republicans seem to think getting vaccinated is part of some plot. And they are right. Medical professionals, some politicians and the media are a bunch of plotting old coots working in cahoots to save the lives of people who are not getting vaccinated, people who are carrying and spreading the virus to others, who may in fact have unintentionally caused others to become seriously ill or die, and who may actually have put themselves on beds of pain or into graves.
