More than a title When I first started this writing gig last June, at the time I honestly didn’t think I’d still be here over a year. I knew I liked writing and I needed a job. Like anyone needing a job, I booked an interview. My enthusiasm, resume, and ready-to-go attitude secured the writing opportunity. An award, experience, and practically 600 stories later – here I still write. It can be easy to get caught up in your work, I’ve been there. I may write but I am still just Sophia. The most intriguing thing about writing in a small town is seeing the ripples caused by bringing information to light. Some ripples are bigger than others, but whether from the inside or outside, it is all the same to me. I’m on the outside looking in because I do not live in Ray County, and I’m on the inside because well – I’m a reporter. The press pass says it all. Why do I write?
