At some point, others who recall the lost world of real conservativism – people who, like me, campaigned and voted for Ronald Reagan, and who cheered George H.W. Bush’s work to create a “kinder and gentler” nation – need to look U.S. Sen. Josh Hawley in the eye, and themselves in the heart, based on this reality: “He ain’t one of us.” I used to vote Republican, and sometimes still do, but as Reagan once said of Democrats I now say of the GOP – “I didn’t leave the party; the party left me.” I do not love all Democrats and their policies. The far left’s woke-but-unconscious agenda heaps hate on millions: • From Founding Fathers who, in their ignorance, owned human beings in a period when many who had wealth owned human beings, to people today who unknowingly commit microaggressions attacked by online trolls and vipers who wait coiled, quick to strike with venomenhanced, cancel-culture fangs; • From speakers on too many college campuses where “free speech” is limited to the unicorn…
