Your editorial of 13 May, 2022, regarding my client Jacqueline Peterson demands that charges be filed in the shooting of her abusive husband. It reminds me of a film in which the supporting characters wail that they must do something. The lead character reminds them that, no, they must do the right thing. The right thing is hard. The right thing is timeconsuming. You extensively quote detectives who say that Ms. Peterson did not have bruises on the night in question. The detectives saw her on the night in question because she called 911, which is not consistent with criminal activity. The detectives should know that bruises often do not appear until the next day or more. You do not have to believe me; do a Google search. The next day, bruises had appeared, were photographed and the photographs provided to the sheriff’s department and prosecutor. Other, older family photographs were collected showing that Ms. Peterson was frequently photographed with bruises. Those photographs, and…
