Vickie May Green, 79, of Overland Park, Kan., formerly of Richmond, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Brookdale College Square Memory Care in Overland Park.

Vickie was born March 27, 1947, in Brookfield, the daughter of Bernard and Marjorie (Bell) Cordray.

She was first united in marriage to David Paul Ainsworth of Lexington. They later divorced.

She was then united in marriage to James “Jim” Lee Green of Richmond on April 5, 1979. He preceded her in death on June 3, 2025.

Survivors include her three sons, Lance (Rebecca) Green, Ryan Ainsworth and Justin Green; and three daughters, Angela Green, Melanie

Other survivors include her grandchildren: Natalie Foland, Chris Foland (Karina Holtzman), Lauren (Daniel) O’Dell, Tiffanie (Corbin) Lester, Brittanie (Michael) DeAngelo, Courtanie (Nick) Woods, Claire Rose, Landon (Shannon) Green, Lydia (Alli) Embree, Lane Carty, Lyssa Green, Kristin Carty, Carter Ainsworth, Estella Green, Jack Green, Camille Green, Blake Murphy, Alexandria Murphy, Paige Murphy and Nicola Murphy. She also is survived by her great-grandchildren: Lexi, Gage, Henry, Jacob, Eli, Zoe, Max, Morgan, Bethanie, Austynn, Leelynd and Miles.

A brother, Dennis Cordray, survives as well. In addition to her parents and husband, Vickie was preceded in death by her niece, Amy Cordray.

Vickie was raised and educated in Richmond, graduating in 1965 from Richmond High School. She continued her education at Columbia Christian College, where she earned her Associate of Arts degree.

Vickie was a familiar and valued presence alongside her husband in their family businesses, Green Quarries and James L. Green Trucking Co. Known as the glue that held everything together, she took great pride in supporting the operations and was especially known for organizing and hosting social gatherings for the companies, bringing people together with her natural warmth and hospitality.

She was active in the Missouri Limestone Producers Association and remained deeply involved in her community throughout her life. Vickie was a dedicated member of P.E.O., supporting women in education; and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, a social and civic enrichment organization.

A social and family-oriented person, Vickie found joy in spending time with those she loved. She enjoyed shopping and gathering with friends for happy hour, and had a special fondness for all things animal print. Beautiful both inside and out, she will be remembered for her vibrant personality, gracious spirit and the joy she brought to those around her.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the donor’s choice. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home; 507 E. Main St.-P.O. Box 190; Richmond, MO 64085.

Visitation and memorial services will be held Sunday, April 26, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, with the visitation beginning at 2:30 p.m. and services to follow at 4. Rev. Art Endsley will officiate.
