1951 – 2026 Thomas C. Young, age 75, of Cameron passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at KU Medical Center.
Tom was born March 20, 1951, in Logan, Iowa, to Ronald and Madge Young. Durning high school, he moved with his family to Cameron, where he graduated in 1969. He then joined the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. After serving his country, Tom worked at Hallmark Cards, retiring in 2009.
On March 3, 2003, Tom married Annette Seitz of Cameron, where they continued to reside. Tom spent his retirement working on and showing his 1951 GMC pickup truck, with which he won several awards. He also loved working in his flower garden and playing in the dirt. Everyone who knew him knew how much he loved his pickup truck a nd flowers.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dennis Young; sister, Marla Young; and son, Jeffrey Seitz.
Tom leaves behind his wife Annette; children, Brenton Young and Erin Thomas; grandchildren, Zane, Jordon, Brittany, Lexi, Ryan, Conor and Dani; and great-grandchild, Ari. He also is survived by his brother and Taco Tuesday buddy, Ronald Young; and many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Tom will be remembered by his family, friends, neighbors and many in his community for his strong faith in God and his kind, loving, compassionate spirit.
You are invited to join the family in celebrating Tom’s life Friday, June 19 at the Ministry Building of the Cameron First Baptist Church. Military honors will be at 1:45 p.m., followed by a celebration of Tom’s life with fellowship and food 2-4.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family for a bench and flowers to be placed in Tom’s garden, or to either St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Special Olympics of Missouri.
