Terry Wayne Ritchie, 71, a resident of Richmond, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2023, at North Care Hospice House in North Kansas City. Terry was born on Feb. 6, 1952, in Brookfield, the son of Clyde and Lela (Mallow) Ritchie. He was united in marriage to Ronda Scobee of Lawson on Nov. 14, 1987. She survives of the home. Additional survivors include: his son, Michael Wayne Ritchie of Richmond; daughter, Erika Ritchie of Pleasant Valley; sister, Barbara Elam of Richmond; two grandchildren, Billy (Makayla) Holder of Excelsior Springs and Paige Holder of Richmond; and three great-grandchildren, Braxtyn Seely, Braylee Seely and Hadley Holder.

Terry was reared and educated in the area of his birth. He was a 1970 graduate of Lathrop High School.

Terry worked for Ford until he retired after 34 years. He enjoyed watching football, especially the Chiefs; camping; and fishing. His favorite thing was being near his children and grandchildren.

He went to AA until he was not physically able to attend. He was sober for 15 years.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made in Terry’s honor to North Care Hospice. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home; 507 E. Main St.P.O. Box 190; Richmond, MO 64085.

Visitation with funeral services will be held Monday, May 8, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. until funeral services begin at 2 in the funeral home chapel.
