Sarah Marie Campbell, 79, of Rayville, died Friday, Jan. 8, 2021, at her granddaughter’s home in Excelsior Springs.

Sarah was born on Aug. 17, 1941, in Carrollton, the daughter of Edward O. and Ida Mae (Luce) Brockert. She was united in marriage to Allen C. Campbell Sr. of Rayville on Aug. 22, 1959. He preceded her in death on Sept. 27, 1995.

Survivors include: two sons, Allen C. Campbell Jr. and Ronald W. Campbell, both of Rayville; two daughters, Ethel Faye (James Sr.) Dunlap of Richmond and Elizabeth (Jerry) Taylor of Rayville; a brother, William Brockert of Warsaw; two sisters, Velma Goetz of Rayville and Pat Adkins of Cumberlin, Tennessee; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, James Allen Campbell; her brother, Clarence Brockert; two sisters, Roberta Manka and Ida Louise Goetz; a grandson, James D. Moore; and two great-grandchildren, Samuel Allen Taylor and Dustin Stevenson.

Sarah was reared and educated in the Rayville schools. She was an animal lover, and she loved her children and grandchildren dearly. Sarah was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Rayville. She loved going to Country Pickin’ and the Eagleton Center.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home; 507 E. Main St.-P.O. Box 190; Richmond, MO 64085.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 15, at Calvary Baptist Church in Rayville. Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 14, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in Crowley Cemetery, Rayville.
