Body

Randall Eugene “Randy” Lasiter, 64, of Richmond, died unexpectedly Tuesday, March 31, 2020, at his home.

Randy was born on March 24, 1956, in Aurora, the son of James Harrison and Mary Ann (Helm) Lasiter. He was united in marriage to Rebecca Burch; they later divorced.

Randy leaves behind one son, Dustin (Andrea) Lasiter of Lee’s Summit; grandchildren: Kaiden Lasiter, Mirra Lasiter, Jaryn Lasiter and Ethan Lasiter; a sister, Cheryl (Rupert) Stonner of Richmond; and a half-brother, William Keith (Gina) “Bill” Davis of Richmond.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jason Lasiter; and brother, Cam Lasiter.

Randy was reared and educated in Richmond and graduated from Richmond High School and the University of Central Missouri, Warrensburg. He developed polio at age 3, but it never slowed him down. Randy did all the things with his son that any father would, from teaching him how to throw a baseball to fishing. He was an awesome father and brother and would do anything for anyone, although he could be a little stubborn sometimes. Randy worked as an auto mechanic for Hughes Chevrolet in Richmond. He was an avid fisherman and loved sports, especially the Chiefs and Royals.

It’s time to run a million miles.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Randall Eugene “Randy” Lasiter Memorial Fund. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 E. Main St.-P.O. Box 190, Richmond, MO 64085.

A celebration of Randy’s life will be held at a later date by the family. Ceremonies entrusted to Thurman Funeral Home.
