Paul Brock

Paul Douglas Brock, 68, of Oak Grove passed away Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024, at his home. Paul was born Aug. 25, 1955, in Independence, the son of George E. and Josephine (Massood) Brock. He was united in marriage to Connie M. Dugan of Orrick on March 30, 1980. They later divorced. Survivors include two daughters, Jamie Brock (Allen Coleman) of Oak Grove and Jennifer (Christopher) Jobe of Richmond; four grandchildren, Deacon Brock, Blayne Brock, Alaina Spencer and Mallorie Roberson; and a brother, Carl (Jan) Brock of Garden City.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his former wife.

Paul graduated in 1973 from Fort Osage High School. In his youth, he was an accomplished and avid baseball player. He was nationally ranked as a Little League player. His baseball team played in the Little League World Series and was second in the nation.

Paul owned and operated his own roofing company out of Oak Grove.

His faith played an important role in his life, and in his youth, he belonged to the Waldo Avenue Baptist Church. He also belonged to the First Baptist Church in Richmond while living in the area.

Paul enjoyed singing and playing his guitar, watching Westerns and crappie fishing.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Paul Douglas Brock Memorial Fund. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home; 507 E. Main St.-P.O. Box 190; Richmond, MO 64085.

Visitation and memorial services were held Thursday, Jan. 11, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, with visitation beginning at 12:30 p.m., followed by the services at 1:30. Inurnment followed the services in Richmond Memory Gardens.
