Mary Rauber

Mary Catherine Rauber, 82, of Richmond passed away peacefully March 16, 2024, in the loving arms of the Lord to meet her dear husband and dear son. She was born March 11, 1942, in Cameron to Pat and Lila Rooney. She married Henry Lane Rauber on Aug. 27, 1960. He preceded her in death on June 11, 2009. In addition to her loving husband Henry, she was preceded in death by her dear son, Jeffrey Lane Rauber; her parents; and her brother, Patrick Thomas Rooney.

Survivors include: two daughters, Deborah Kay (Kraig) Greenly of New Hampshire and Lori Ann (Lindsey) Clay of Richmond; and four grandchildren, Cody (Jill) McCann, Brandon (Mary) McCann, Justin Greenly and JJ (Tiffany) Rauber.

Other survivors include seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, James (Debbie) Rooney and John (Susan) Rooney; and a sister-in-law, Dixie Rooney. Several nieces and nephews; and bonus family and lifetime friends, Dave and Wilma Diven, also survive.

She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Richmond, the Ladies Altar Society and the Richmond American Legion Auxiliary.

Mary worked for the family business, Rooney Trucking. She retired from there. She then went on to own her own business, M & R Income Tax, which she loved.

Mary was a devoted wife, mother and grandma who just loved life. She and Henry would travel to take trips, going to casinos, seeing her kids and being with them. Mary loved Henry’s woodworking projects, and spending time with family and friends. She loved playing cards, dominoes and having get-togethers, especially on the holidays and her birthday. Mary loved her tree and presents.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Immaculate Conception Parish, Richmond. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home; 507 E. Main St.-P.O. Box 190; Richmond, MO 64085.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, March 22, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. A rosary with funeral Mass will be held Saturday, March 23, at Immaculate Conception, with the rosary beginning at 10:30 a.m., followed by the funeral Mass at 11. Interment will be in Woodland Cemetery, Richmond.
