Mamie Marie “Sue” Trainer, 93, of Richmond, died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2020, at NorthCare Hospice House in Kansas City.

Sue was born on Sept. 17, 1927, in Ray County, the daughter of Willie and Katie Emily (Holloway) Wrisinger. She was united in marriage to Binnie Lloyd Trainer of Richmond on May 29, 1947. He preceded her in death on May 24, 2011.

Survivors include a son, Steve Trainer of New Knoxville, Ohio; two daughters, Bonnie Sue (Robert) Lindsay of Edwards and Carolyn (Steven) Flint of Warsaw; five grandchildren, Bobby Lindsay, Candida White, Everett Lindsay, Shannan Landon and Janet Wilson; 11 great-grandchildren, Aaron Stirewalt, Aric Kerr, Ryan White, Lilea Verhelle, Izyck Enderson, Emanuel Verhelle, Dominck Verhelle, Alayna Wilson, Wyatt Landon, Alyxander Wilson and Cayden Landon; three great-great-grandchildren, Carter, Maddox and Parker Kerr; and two brothers, Willie “Wayne” Wrisinger of Excelsior Springs and Forrest “Duke” (Harriette) Wrisinger of Oak Grove.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughter, Robin Stirewalt; great-great-grandson, Caden Kerr; brother, Harold Wrisinger; and three sisters, Helen Barr, Ina Mae Martin and Florence Noble.

Sue was reared and educated in Ray County. She was a housewife and homemaker. Sue was a faithful member of the churches she attended over the years. She was active in her church, was a Sunday School teacher and association director of the Sunbeams. Sue was a faithful member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Rayville, which she helped establish. She also was a member of the Henrietta Baptist Church. She was a tremendous witness for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She liked gardening and fishing. Her greatest joy was visits with her grandchildren.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to NorthCare Hospice House. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home; 507 E. Main St.-P.O. Box 190; Richmond, MO 64085.

Visitation with funeral services will be held on Friday, September 25, 2020, at Thurman Funeral Home, Richmond, with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. and services to follow at 2. The Rev. Dr. Dennis Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery, Richmond.
