Lula “Marie” Corle, 86, of Richmond, died Thursday, Oct. 1, 2020, at North Kansas City Hospital.

Marie was born on March 22, 1934, in Independence, Kansas, the daughter of Howard and Erma (Koger) Dambacher. She was united in marriage to Edward Earl Corle of Independence, Kansas, on March 13, 1955; he survives of the home.

Additional survivors include a son, Edward Martin “Marty” (Norma) Corle of Richmond; daughter, Brenda K. (Jim) Moore of Sedalia; two granddaughters, Victoria (Richard Tate) Smith of Sedalia and Veronica (Danny Roth) Smith of Henrietta; seven great-grandchildren: Willie, Rhyleigh, Peyton, Emmett, Easton, Lochlan and Torin; great-grandchild on the way, Evan; sister, Wanda Biggs of Perry, Kansas; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Ronnie, Harold and Bill Dambacher.

Marie graduated from Independence Junior College and worked at the Independence Chamber of Commerce and Newkirk Insurance Agency. Marie was a member of the Dockery Baptist Church and was an active member of the Henrietta Garden Club, the Red Hats Society and FCE. She was an avid card player and loved to read. In her later years, she became a fan of crossword puzzles and almost always could be found doing crosswords in ink. Marie loved flowers and her front yard is a testament to her gardening talents.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Dockery Baptist Church. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 E. Main St.-P.O. Box 190, Richmond, MO 64085.
