Kelly Gene Clark, 59, of Richmond, died Friday, July 23, 2021, at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, KS.

Kelly was born on May 8, 1962, in Richmond, the son of Gerald Lewis and Joan (Keller) Clark.  He was united in marriage to Tammy Jo Hardwick of Richmond on February 6, 2004 she survives of the home.

Additional survivors include: two sons, Daniel (Nicole) Clark of Excelsior Springs and Tyler (Dominique) Clark of Conroe, TX; two daughters, Heather Rodenberg and her fiancé Nick Evans of Norborne and Ashley (Eric) Morgan of Lexington; Goddaughter, Nina Barron of Hardin; 11 grandchildren: Jade Teichman, Cale Morgan, Madysyn Morgan, Kyler Morgan, Ava Evans, Lynlee Morgan, Nolan Johnston, Olivia Morgan, Harper Clark, Ainsley Morgan, Nellie Evans and one on the way; father-in-law, Billy Jo Hardwick of Richmond; three nieces, Stacey (Tom) Flowers of Cameron, Ryan (Brad) Nelson of Rayville and Taylor Rittmiller of Richmond; one nephew, Brandon Rittmiller of Liberty; sister-in-law, Lisa (Steve) Rittmiller of Richmond, several great nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extend family members, his many friends and his beloved dog, Tanner.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Carl Dewayne Stanton.

Kelly was reared and educated in Richmond graduating in the class of 1980.  Kelly was currently working as a serviceman for A.B.F. Freight in Kansas City.  Kelly’s favorite thing to do was to go to Branson with his family.  He loved all the attractions there, especially going to the Presleys’ Country Jubilee Show and spending time on Table Rock Lake.  His dream was to retire in Branson.  He liked to joke about being a tramcar driver at Silver Dollar City.  His hobbies and interests included boating, good running Fords, working on his tractor, cooking, hot wings and food. 

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Kansas City.  They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 East Main Street-P.O. Box 190, Richmond, MO 64085.

Due to the increase in COVID-19 rates, the family suggest practicing social distancing and wearing masks at your discretion.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.  Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Richmond Memory Gardens.  Please remember to share your memories of Kelly with the family by visiting www.thurmanfuneralhome.com.
