Kathryn Luella Nichols, 84, of Richmond died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2023, at her home.

Kathryn was born on Aug. 31, 1938, in Hammond, Ind., the daughter of Adolph and Minnie Myra (Sloan) Zucklin. She was united in marriage to Hugh Nichols. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include: six sons, Mike (Cindy) Nichols, Bryon Nichols, Kevin Nichols, Allen (Tracy) Nichols and Donnie Nichols, all of Richmond, and Bill Nichols of Kearney; three daughters, Pam (Rick) Lam, Ann (Kenneth) O’Dell, both of Hardin, and Vickie (Bill) Taylor of Richmond; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Carol Stevens of Richmond and Helen (Franklin) Syphert of Polo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Butch Zucklin and Adolph Zucklin Jr.; and three sisters, Margaret Bellis, Minnie Halterman and Loretta Zucklin.

Kathryn was reared and educated in Richmond, where she graduated high school. She enjoyed gardening, shopping, playing cards, bingo and visiting the casino. Kathryn will be dearly missed by all her family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 18, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond.
