From a young age, he worked alongside his family at their business, Green Quarries Inc., which his parents had founded. After his father’s passing, Jim, along with his brother, sister and their spouses, continued to run the business together until it sold on June 1, 2000.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Shriners International’s Wings of Mercy, a program that provides free transportation for patients and their families who need to travel to and from Shriners Children’s Hospitals. Jim participated in this program years ago.
