The Richmond News, Sept. 26, 2025 Doris Carmichael Doris Leola Carmichael, 100, of Kansas City passed away Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025, at NorthCare Hospice House in North Kansas City. Doris was born March 22, 1925, in Slater, the daughter of George Miller and Sarah Ellen “Sadie” (Clemens) Wolford. She was united in marriage to Herbert Garland “Pete” Carmichael in 1946. He preceded her in death on Dec. 21, 1996. Survivors include her three daughters, Debra (David) Ray of Kearney, Patricia (Larry) Brooks of Mesa, Ariz., and Carol Sue Taylor of Redding, Calif.; daughter-in-law, Stephanie Carmichael of Kansas City; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Doris was preceded in death by her son, Larry Carmichael; five brothers; and four sisters. Doris was a devout Christian whose faith guided every aspect of her life. She prayed faithfully for her family and found great joy in such simple pleasures as reading, birdwatching, gazing at the…
