Docia (Miller) Rash, 98, a resident of Columbia, Missouri, formerly of Braymer, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at South Hampton Place, Columbia, Missouri.

Docia was born the daughter of Frank E. and Kate (McCarty) Miller, Sr., on March 10, 1923, in Newberry, South Carolina. She was united in marriage to Thomas S. Rash on June 5, 1943, in Newberry, South Carolina. He preceded her in death on April 22, 2006.

She was a farm wife and a 4-H leader in the Braymer and Cowgill areas, worked at the Ammunition Plant in Richmond, Missouri, and worked as a Star Mail Contractor for the United States Postal Service running a route from Chillicothe to Carrollton. Docia was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church in Cowgill, Missouri.

Survivors include two daughters, Nita Faye Bloss of Springfield, Missouri, and Rita Kaye Hussey of Columbia, Missouri; three grandchildren, Darin E. Hussey, Curtis Edmond Denham, and Alan Stuart Denham; eight great grandchildren, Randall Hussey, Zacharial Denham, Connor Thomas Denham, Titan James Denham, Benjamin Jeffrey Denham, Elizabeth Parisi, Amanda Welshans, and Lily Welshans; and one great-great granddaughter, Layla Parisi.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas; one son, Thomas Marion Rash; one granddaughter, Docia Marie McIntire; one son-in-law, David Bloss; three brothers, Edward, Frank, and John Miller; and seven sisters, Laura Stetler, Doris Fleming, Georgia Freeman, Mary Keith, Nora Farmer, Juanita Purdue, and Evangeline Rinderknecht.

Graveside services will be held at Green Hills Cemetery, Rockport, Missouri, on Thursday, May 27, 2021, at 1 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Missouri, on Wednesday, May, 26, 2021, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to The Food Bank for Central & Northeast Missouri and may be left or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
