Audrey “Lynne” Goetz, 62, of Henrietta, died Thursday, May 27, 2021, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Lynne was born on Aug. 25, 1958, in Excelsior Springs, the daughter of Charles and Lena (Smith) Scobee.  She was united in marriage to Charles “Wayne” Goetz of Excelsior Springs on May 6, 1978; he survives of the home.

Additional survivors include: three sons: David (Lisa) Goetz of Springfield, John Goetz of Long Lane, and Lance (Rosie) Goetz of Wood Heights; daughter, Kelli (Monty) Bowman of Henrietta; 8 grandchildren: Kelsey (Mason) Hartley, Kelby Goetz, Emily Goetz, Daniel Goetz, Austin Bowman, Aiden Bowman, Lillian Goetz, and Avrie Goetz; great-grandson, Baylor Hartley; two brothers, Rusty Scobee of Rayville and Charles Alan (Angie) Scobee of Pattonsburg; sister, Sharon McCubbin of Lexington; and many nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family, and friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by her both sets of grandparents and her parents.

Lynne had been a CNA since 1982.  She worked at Shirkey Nursing and Rehab Center from 1989 to 2011 and for Shirkey Hospice from 2011 until March of this year.  Lynne loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.  She loved working with the elderly, especially in hospice, at the end of life.  Lynne said she always hoped she made at least a small difference in the patient’s and family’s lives.  No one spread more love in one lifetime.  Lynne will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Shirkey Hospice.  They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 East Main Street-P.O. Box 190, Richmond, MO 64085.

Visitation with funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, with visitation beginning at 3:00 P.M., with services to follow at 4:00 P.M.  Inurnment will be held at a later date in Elmira Cemetery.  Please remember to share your memories of Lynne with the family by visiting www.thurmanfuneralhome.com.
