A former Ray County employee who sued the county last year alleging whistleblower retaliation is seeking to expand her lawsuit to include allegations from a discrimination charge.

Former Ray County victim advocate Joslynn Marco recently filed a motion seeking permission to amend her lawsuit after receiving a May 14 notice of right to sue from the Missouri Commission on Human Rights. Marco filed a charge of discrimination on or about July 17, 2025, and is seeking to add allegations from that charge to her existing lawsuit against the county.

The notice gives Marco 90 days from the date of the notice to bring a civil action, according to the motion. “Plaintiff (Marco) seeks leave to amend her petition to add allegations set forth in her charge of discrimination,” the motion states.
