Richmond Chamber furloughs director temporarily

RICHMOND – The Richmond Area Chamber of Commerce, in an emergency meeting, decided to temporarily furlough Executive Director Natalie Lamar to save money and keep the chamber functioning through the economic downturn.Chamber President Felicia Farabee said the board weighed options before deciding on the temporary reduction of staff.

COVID-19 deaths from the world level down to Clay and Ray counties continue to increase, with the nation this week topping 1 million cases and 60,000 deaths; projections had stated the nation would not hit 60,000 deaths until August. The number of Clay County deaths remains two. Ray County continues to report 0 deaths, though the number of cases climbed from seven to 12. *Clay County cases include the Kansas City portion of the county. Missouri is set to start reopening Monday.
