USDA to aid farmers with CFAP 2 effort

WASHINGTON – The USDA is implementing Coronavirus Food Assistance Program 2 for agricultural producers who continue to face market disruptions and associated costs because of COVID-19. Coronavirus Food Assistance Program 2, CFAP 2, will provide producers with financial assistance to give them the ability to absorb some of the increased marketing costs associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. CFAP 2 follows the first round of CFAP, which had an application period of May 26 through Sept. 11. To complete the CFAP 2 application, producers will need to reference their sales, inventory and other records. However, since CFAP 2 is a self-certification program, this documentation will not need to be submitted with the application. Because applications are subject to county committee review and spot check, some producers will be required to provide documentation.
