State Rep. Terry Thompson is becoming a fixture at Richmond Area Chamber of Commerce after-hours events. Thompson appeared at the latest event, held Sept. 22 at Shirkey Golf Course. His appearance followed an appearance at the August gathering at the Ray County Museum. While people trickled in and enjoyed the hors d’oeuvres, Thompson mingled. Eventually, he was introduced to the crowd by Renee Kellerman and Brian Rice, both with the chamber. “(It’s) nice to see all of you,” Kellerman said. “We want to thank Terry Thompson, our 53rd (District) state representative, for putting on this after-hours event for us.” Before Thompson spoke, Rice said the significant turnout meant a lot to the chamber. He also mentioned some chamber-related events are slated for October. In addition, Rice said the chamber is operating smoothly.
